I’m just another human being learning how to navigate this life with a pen in my hand, a camera on my shoulder, and a deeply rooted faith in Jesus Christ. I love my husband, my family, our mini golden doodle, and American Sign Language. I enjoy camping, thrifting, Crumbl's Lemon Cheesecake cookie, and any time I see a butterfly I'm reminded of the presence of God.

I was born and raised in southern West Virginia and now live in Murfreesboro, TN. I am married to Adam Reeves--the sweetest and most intentional person I know. When we fell for one another, we had a mutual love for photography. This shared interest has been woven throughout our relationship.

When I look through my photos over the years, I see tangible memories. A photo can hold so much power: to arouse your heart to smile, your eyes to water, your family to share in some laughter.

Deeper than that, I believe humans were designed for relationship. First and foremost, with God. And then with each other. That is what I desire to capture: you and those you love as you have been created.

"To be loved but not known is comforting but superficial. To be known and not loved is our greatest fear. But to be fully known and truly loved is, well, a lot like being loved by God. It is what we need more than anything. It liberates us from pretense, humbles us out of our self-righteousness, and fortifies us for any difficulty life can throw at us.”

-Timothy Keller

You may be wondering...

where did the name "darkness to light media" come from?

Just as photography is powerful-- using the art of capturing light to document memories. It only holds power when the light is able to be captured.

When I first began exploring the world of manual camera settings, all of my photos were complete darkness. An entirely black screen.

On a deeper level-- the deepest actually. I was born into spiritual darkness. Lost, separated from God, and on my way to eternal separation from Him. And friend, so were you. Acts 26:18 says,

"To open their eyes, and to turn them from darkness to light, and from the power of Satan unto God, that they may receive forgiveness of sins, and inheritance among them which are sanctified by faith that is in me.”

A few years ago, this verse became my anthem, and it is now the primary goal of Darkness to Light Media. To use the art of capturing light to turn souls from darkness, to the Light which is Jesus Christ.

Whether you have had a relationship with Jesus for years now, or you've never heard the truth behind His name, I'm here to serve you and yours for all of your photography needs.
